This wooden vessel is steam-powered, bearing a paddlewheel and a propeller, engine with exhaust funnel at the front. Firmly tethered to the cabin, a circle of sturdy cables passes upwards through a brass ring, anchoring the vessel to a net that covers a huge red and silver balloon, festooned with golden ribbons.
